Manage your transactional logs and email previews

The transactional logs in Brevo keep track of everything that happens to your transactional emails, such as when they were sent, delivered, opened, or clicked. These actions are called "events", and they are recorded for all emails sent via API, SMTP, and automation workflows. You can also preview the content of sent emails and export your log data for reporting or troubleshooting purposes.

Gut zu wissen

Transactional logs and email previews are stored indefinitely by default. You can configure a custom retention period at any time. To learn more, check our dedicated article Manage the retention period of transactional logs and email previews.

❗ Important
If your account has sent more than 10 million email events, an additional platform-wide policy applies: any events older than 24 months will be automatically deleted, regardless of your custom settings. Affected accounts receive advance notifications (in-app and by email) before any deletion occurs. If you need to retain data beyond 24 months, an extended retention option is available with the Enterprise plan. To learn more, check our dedicated article About the data retention policy.

Access your transactional logs

To access your transactional logs, go to Transactional > Logs. The logs page lists all the actions that happened on your transactional emails, such as when an email was sent, opened, or when a contact clicked an unsubscribe link.

💡 Gut zu wissen
To filter your logs for emails sent through automations, use a dedicated sender or add a tag to the emails used in your automations. You can then use these as filters in your logs.

Export your transactional logs

💡 Gut zu wissen
The export includes the main log details only. If you need additional data, such as the sending IP address, reply-to address, or template ID, you can retrieve it using the Brevo Transactional Email API.

You can export up to 200,000 log entries as a CSV file for use in external reporting tools, audits, or troubleshooting. The exported file includes the following details:

  • st_text: type of event
  • ts: timestamp
  • sub: email subject
  • frm: sender
  • email: recipient
  • tag: any tags
  • mid: message ID
  • link: any clicked links

To export your transactional logs:

  2. (Optional) Apply filters to narrow down the entries you want to export.
  3. Click Download CSV.
