To offer you a unified experience, we have integrated an image creation and editing tool directly into the design editor of your emails. No need to create and upload your images from an external tool: you can create your email campaign and unique images directly from the editor. You can either choose from a range of professional templates that can be customized to match your brand or create your own visual design.
Before you start
If you want to customize your own images, you must upload them beforehand to the Content library. To learn more, check our dedicated article Manage images for your email design in the Content library.
🖼️ Create an image
There are two ways you can create an image with the editor:
- [Recommended] From a template: Some elements are already inserted. Choosing a template allows you to create professional quality designs easily.
- From scratch: Your page is empty and you have complete creative freedom.
- Access your Content library: Add or select an Image block and click Replace (image).
- Click Create image at the top of the Content library.
- Choose if you want to create an image from a template or from scratch.
Browse through the available templates and select your preferred one. You can filter by categories and sizes.Select the size of your image. You can choose between three options:
- Square (600 X 600)
- Banner (1200 X 300)
- 16/9 (608 X 342)
💡 Good to knowYou will be able to select another template from the Templates tab on the left-side toolbar within the editor at any time. Be aware this will replace your current image and all your content will be discarded. - Add elements and customize your image. We'll detail the potential of the editor in the section below.
🧑🎨 Customize your design
Once you have chosen between creating an image from a template or from scratch, you can start customizing your design.
Customize your template
If you've chosen a template, you can customize the different elements initially present. For example, you can choose a different image, change the color of the shapes and the text, or pick a different font. The available customization options for each element are detailed in the next section. You cannot rotate, move, resize, arrange, duplicate, or delete these elements. You can however add new elements if you wish.
Add elements to your image or template
If you've chosen to create an image from scratch, you will need to insert all the elements you want. You can also add new elements to a template.
To add images, text, shapes, or stickers to your page, click Elements, or click the tab of the type of element you wish to add. To go even quicker, use the search bar to find items.
Click your element to access the editing options in the top toolbar:
You can choose between the following editing options to customize your images:
Editing option | Description | |
Crop | Allows you to crop your image so it shows only the part you want to show. You can always uncrop it by clicking on the Crop icon again. | |
Adjustments | Allows you to change the brightness, contrast, temperature, etc. of your image. | |
Filter | Offers many different filters to add to your image, such as Sunset, Ancient, or Colorful. | |
Effects | Offers many different effects to add to your image, such as Pixelize, Cross Cut, or Liquid. | |
Blur | Allows you to blur your image in different ways. | |
Stroke |
Allows you to add a customizable border to your image. |
There are three different types of text available:
- Title
- Headline
- Paragraph
Click your element to access the editing options in the top toolbar:
Select the text to customize it. You can change the font, size, style, alignment, and color of your text and add a border (stroke). Click More to access advanced options.
You can choose between a selection of Basic and Abstract shapes.

For all the shapes, you can change the color and add a border (stroke). Some shapes have advanced options such as the number of sides, points, or line width.
The square also benefits from the Adjustments, Filter, Effects, and Blur tools available for Stock Images / My Files.
There are four different types of stickers available from the tab:
- Doodle
- Emoji
- Emoticons
- Hands
For each element you add, you can:

💾 Export and use your image
Once you are done customizing your image, click Export Images to save your design in the Content library.
To use your image in your campaign, select it in the Content library and click Insert. To learn more, check our dedicated article Manage images for your email design in the Content library [New design].

We'll answer some questions or issues you may have about the Create image feature.
For now, you cannot save your template to edit it later. Once started, you need to finish the creation of your image before exporting it, or changes will be discarded.
To add a shadow to your element:
- Click your element.
- Click More in the top toolbar.
- In the Appearance section, go to Shadow and click to enable the shadow.
- You can then access customization options by clicking Drop Shadow.
To change the opacity of your element:
- Click your element.
- Click More in the top toolbar.
- In the Layer section, go to Opacity, and drag the slider to any value between 0 and 100 to adjust the opacity.
Elements from the templates cannot be flipped. If you add a new element you will be able to flip it:
- Click your element.
- Select More in the top toolbar.
- Click:
- to flip vertically
- to flip horizontally
This option is unavailable for elements from the template. You cannot rotate, move, resize, arrange, duplicate, or delete these elements. These options are only available for elements you've added manually. However, you can still customize elements from the template.
If you want to customize your own images, you must upload them beforehand to the Content library. You cannot add them from the editor. To learn more, check our dedicated article Manage images for your email design in the Content library.
All available fonts can be found in the top toolbar when you select a text element. You cannot import your own fonts.
The Blend mode defines how the colors of 2 layers interact. The Blend mode works with any element as long as at least 2 layers overlap. Many blend modes are available, such as Multiply, Soft Light, or Difference. This allows you to create truly unique designs.
