Before sending an SMS message to a contact, make sure that a phone number is included in the SMS attribute within Brevo (including the + sign and the country code).
There are currently three ways to add a phone number to the SMS attribute:
- Manually fill in the SMS attribute for an existing or new contact. Learn more in Add a single contact to Brevo.
- Import contact lists that include SMS numbers for your contacts. Learn more in Import contacts to Brevo
- Include an SMS field in your subscription forms. Learn more in our series of articles about subscription forms.

Please note that the phone number is a unique entry in the contact database. You cannot have two contacts with the same phone number.🤔 Have a question?
