Receive your contacts' replies to your SMS campaigns or transactional SMS by email. You can also reply to your contacts by email.

For North America (US/CA), you can also receive your contacts' replies to your SMS campaigns or transactional SMS by SMS and reply to them by SMS. To learn more, check our dedicated article Send one-to-one SMS from Brevo.
📥 Receive SMS responses by email
You can only receive answers to your SMS messages on the Brevo account login email address. You cannot edit the email address on which you receive answers for SMS messages.

Receive SMS responses for SMS campaigns
- Click the account dropdown and go to Settings > Campaigns > Default settings.
- In the SMS Replies section, select Yes to receive replies to your SMS messages via an email notification.
- Click Save.
Receive SMS responses for transactional SMS
- Click the account dropdown and go to Settings > Automations > Transactional SMS.
- Select Configuration.
- In the Transactional SMS Replies section, select Yes to receive replies to your SMS messages via an email notification.
When customizing the sender name of your SMS messages, ensure you use a phone number (e.g. +337119123456) and not text (e.g. MYCOMPANY). This phone number will then be automatically converted into a 5-digit short code on your recipient's side.
If you use a text sender, there will be no way to link the recipient to the sender and the SMS response will fail.

📤 Reply to SMS responses by email
To reply to SMS responses by email:
- Search for the SMS phone number in the notification email.
- Look into your contact database to retrieve the email address corresponding to the contact who sent you the SMS.
- Send them an email to answer their reply.
