What are the default email templates used in Automation workflows?

In this article, we will explain the default email templates available in your Automation workflows and what to update before using them.

A default email template is automatically created when you create an Automation workflow using our workflow templates. You must update it before using it in a workflow to choose your own settings, add your company's information and personalize the design.

Abandoned cart

The default email template for abandoned carts is automatically created when you first select the Abandoned Cart workflow. It contains all the information needed to remind a contact of the products they left behind.

  1. Company logo: replace this placeholder with your own logo.
  2. Links to the website: provide links to your own website pages.
  3. Placeholder for contact's name + introduction text: include a brief opening appealing to the target audience.
  4. CTA button with link to checkout: provide a direct link to get back to the contact's cart.
  5. Placeholders to list the products:  during the sending of the email, these placeholders will be automatically replaced by the image, name, price, size, and quantity of the products left behind.

Welcome mail

The default welcome email template is automatically created when you first select the Welcome Message workflow. It contains all the information needed to welcome new contacts who subscribed to receive your emails.

  1. Company logo: replace this placeholder with your own logo.
  2. Welcome image: welcome your new contact with an introductory image, such as a picture of your team.
  3. Welcome message: welcome your new contact by introducing your business and showing them the perks of being connected to you.
  4. Contact's details and double-opt confirmation: allow your contact to verify they didn't make a mistake when registering and make sure that they want to receive your emails.
  5. Blog post examples: give an overview of the content you offer to contacts who subscribe to your emails.
  6. Company's information: provide a link to your website, your company's contact information, your social media platforms, etc.

Anniversary date

The default anniversary email template is automatically created when you first select the Anniversary Date workflow. It contains all the information needed to wish your contacts a personalized happy anniversary and offer them a promotional discount.

  1. Company logo: replace this placeholder with your own logo.
  2. Links to the website: provide a link to your own website pages.
  3. Birthday or anniversary image: add an image on the theme of birthday celebration and add your own original stamp to it.
  4. Birthday or anniversary message: show your contacts that you care by wishing them a happy birthday or a happy anniversary on the day they registered.
  5. Promotional discount: offer a discount to your contacts as they're much more likely to treat themselves on their special day.
  6. CTA button with link to the website: provide a link to your website.
  7. Social media links: provide links to your social media platforms.
💡 Good to know
Regarding the footer of the default email templates:
- The company's information must be updated (location, email address, links to social media profiles, name, etc.).
- The unsubscribe link is mandatory in all marketing emails. If you remove it, Brevo will automatically add it back during the sending of your email.
- The Brevo logo is only shown in emails sent by users on the Free plan.
