The simple email editor, also called Rich Text Editor, is a lightweight email editor that lets you create messages that look and feel like personal emails. It’s ideal for quick announcements, outreach messages, and 1-to-1 style communication. Use the simple editor when you want to create an email with basic formatting options, a plain-text look, and that feels personal.
🧑💻 Access the simple editor
To start designing with the simple email editor:
- Create an email campaign or email template and set it up.
- Click Start designing or Add content to open the editor selection menu.
- Click Start from scratch > Simple editor.
The simple email editor opens, where you can create your email with a simple, text-based interface! Next time, you will be able to select your previously created emails from the Your emails category. Use your emails designed with the simple email editor in your email campaigns, automations, and conversations!
🎨 Customize your email with the simple editor
With the simple email editor, you can create a clean, personal-style email by typing your content directly and enriching it with formatting, images, links, emojis, and personalization.
Use the top toolbar to customize your email:

📏 Change your text font, size, format, or color
Adjust your text’s font, size, formatting, and color with the top toolbar to make your emails visually engaging and perfectly aligned with your brand:
🔗 Add a link under a text or image
You can make any word, sentence or image clickable by inserting a link. This is useful for directing readers to a webpage, email address, phone number, or downloadable resource.
To insert a link:
- Place the cursor where you want to insert a link or select a text, and click the 🔗 Add link icon in the top toolbar.
- In the Link target field, enter a URL to which you want to redirect recipients, or paste an email link or preview variable (mirror, unsubscribe, update profile, or double opt-in links).
- In the Link title field, enter the text that will contain your clickable link. If you selected a text from your email content, the field will already be filled.
- Check Open in new tab if you want your link to open a new page on your recipients' screen when they click it. It allows them to keep your email open in another page if needed.
- Click Insert.
- After inserting your image, click it to show its options.
- In the image options toolbar, click the 🔗 Insert link icon.
- In the Link target field, enter a URL to which you want to redirect recipients.
- Check Open in new tab if you want your link to open a new page on your recipients' screen when they click it. It allows them to keep your email open in another page if needed.
- Click Insert.
🏞️ Insert images
Images play a key role in capturing your recipients' attention and bringing your email design to life. To insert images in your email design:
- Click Add image in the top toolbar.

Select an image from your content library. You can either upload images from your computer, or search for Stock images.
- Click Insert.
- (Optional) Resize your image by dragging the sliders in the corners of your image.
- (Optional) Add a link to your image.
{ } Add personalization variables (contact attribute, event data, data feed)
Personalization allows you to tailor your email content to each recipient by inserting information such as a contact’s first name, details from their last event, or content pulled from a data feed.
To insert a variable, click the { } Add variable icon in the top toolbar and choose which variable you want to insert:

📊 Insert a table
Tables allow you to organize content into rows and columns, making it easier for your readers to scan important details like event schedules or product comparisons.
To insert a table:
- Place your cursor where you want to insert a table and click the Create table icon

- Decide how many rows and columns you want to create by hovering over the small squares and clicking when done.
