How to connect your email account via IMAP

In this article, we will explain how to configure your email account via IMAP so that you can send, receive and manage your emails directly in Brevo Inbox and CRM. Unless your email provider is Google (Gmail, G Suite) or Microsoft (Office 365, Outlook), IMAP is the default option to connect your email account to Brevo.

Before you start

If you are not sure who your email provider is or where to find the hosts and ports, have a look at our list of most common providers. If you can't find your provider in the list, ask your IT administrator or the person you purchased your domain or website from.

Connect your email account via IMAP

  1. Whether you're adding your account from Inbox or CRM, select the IMAP email type.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. In some rare cases, your email address might not be your username. If it's your case, uncheck My email address is my username and enter your username.
    💡 Good to know
Creating an app-specific password might be required by some providers—find out more in our list of most common providers.
  4. Enter the IMAP Host address and select the IMAP Port.
  5. Enter the SMTP Host address and select the SMTP Port.
  6. In some rare cases, different credentials might be used for SMTP. If it's your case, uncheck Same username and password as IMAP and enter your credentials.
  7. Click Connect my account.
