In this Getting started with Email campaigns guide, we will provide the initial steps and best practices for sending your first email campaign.

What is an email campaign?

An email campaign is marketing email sent by your business to multiple recipients at once for promotional purposes. This could include a newsletter, or an email that advertises your products or services. Email campaigns can only be sent to contacts who have given you their consent.

🛠️ Set up your account

To boost the chances of your email campaigns reaching your recipients' inboxes, it's crucial to set up your account properly. Just follow these two key steps:

  1. Use a professional email address.
  2. Authenticate the domain linked to your professional email address.

By doing so, you'll greatly improve the delivery success of your emails.

👤 Import your contacts to Brevo

Before sending your first email campaign, you should import the contacts who will receive your campaign.

✉️ Create and send your first email campaign

Step 1: Configure the settings of your email campaign

To create your first email campaign, go to Campaigns > Email and click Create an email campaign. Then, configure the settings of your email campaign:

  1. Choose a sender.
  2. Choose your recipients.
  3. Write the subject line and preview text of your email.

Step 2: Design your email campaign

Click Start Designing to arrange your email campaign by dragging and dropping blocks of content, such as text, images, or buttons.

Step 3: Schedule and send your email campaign

Finally, schedule and send your email campaign using one of Brevo's scheduling options:

📊 Analyze your campaign report

After giving your recipients time to engage, you can analyze your campaign report to see how it performed. This report allows you to view key performance metrics, such as opens and clicks, unsubscriptions, soft and hard bounces, and clicked links.
