Personalize your SMS messages with contact attributes

You can easily personalize your SMS messages with any contact attributes stored in your Brevo contact list. Personalizing SMS messages is always encouraged to engage with your contacts and to increase the number of responses.

For example, it's possible to insert the full name of your recipients in the messages or add a customized greeting in the content of your SMS messages.

❗️ Important
For SMS personalization, you must use the old template language (as described below).

How can I personalize my SMS messages?

When designing your SMS messages, you will insert a placeholder that will be automatically replaced by the personalized information for each recipient at the time your SMS is sent.

Personalizations can be managed by using contact attributes that are saved in your Brevo account, such as the last name and first name of your contacts.

Add contact attributes to your SMS messages

To add personalize your SMS messages with contact attributes:

  1. Choose the attribute(s) that you'd like to add to your SMS message from your contact list.
  2. In the body of your SMS, add the contact attribute between curly brackets { } like so: {ATTRIBUTE}. For example, if one of your attributes is called FIRSTNAME, you will write {FIRSTNAME}.
    💡 Good to know
Your attributes must be written in uppercase letters.
