Gandi - Authenticate your domain (DKIM)

This article applies to users who created a Brevo account before June 29, 2023. If you created your account after this date, check our dedicated article to learn about the new domain authentication process.

As explained in our dedicated article Authenticate your domain to improve the deliverability of your emails (DKIM), you must add DNS records to your web host to authenticate your domain.

In this article, we will explain how to authenticate your domain on Gandi.

Before you start

👆Step 1: Access the Domains page

To access the Domains page:

  1. In Brevo, click on your name at the top-right side of the screen.
  2. Select Senders & IP.
  3. Click Domains.

⚙️ Step 2: Generate the DNS records

To generate the DNS records that you will use to authenticate your domain:

If you haven't added your domain yetIf you already added your domain
  1. Click Add a domain.
  2. Enter the domain name you wish to use to sign your emails and click Save. In our example, we are using the domain
  3. The DNS records (Brevo code and DKIM) that need to be added to your domain host display.

🚀 Step 3: Add the DNS records to your domain host

  1. Open a new window in your navigator and access your Gandi account.
  2. In the sidebar menu, select Domain.
  3. Select the subdomain or domain that you want to delegate.
  4. Go to the DNS Records tab.
  5. Click Add record.
  6. Create a DNS entry of TXT type for your DKIM record.
  7. Gandi automatically populates your domain name. When copying the Hostname field from Brevo, only copy the selector (circled in yellow) before your domain name and paste it into the Name field of Gandi:

  8. Copy the Value field from Brevo and paste it into the Hostname field of Gandi.
  9. Leave the TTL and Unit fields as is and click Save
  10. Go back to Brevo and click Verify & Authenticate or Authenticate.
    ❗️ Important
It may take up to 24-48 hours for DNS changes to propagate fully.
  11. Once the configuration is complete, a green check appears next to the Value fields for DKIM records.

Your domain has been authenticated, and your emails will now be signed with your own domain name in your recipients' mailbox! 🚀⬇️
