Amen - Authenticate your domain (DKIM)

This article applies to users who created a Brevo account before June 29, 2023. If you created your account after this date, check our dedicated article to learn about the new domain authentication process.

As explained in our dedicated article Authenticate your domain to improve the deliverability of your emails (DKIM), you must add DNS records to your web host to authenticate your domain.

In this article, we will explain how to authenticate your domain on Amen.

Before you start

👆Step 1: Access the Domains page

To access the Domains page:

  1. In Brevo, click on your name at the top-right side of the screen.
  2. Select Senders & IP.
  3. Click Domains.

⚙️ Step 2: Generate the DNS records

To generate the DNS records that you will use to authenticate your domain:

If you haven't added your domain yetIf you already added your domain
  1. Click Add a domain.

  2. Enter the domain name you wish to use to sign your emails and click Save. In our example, we are using the domain domain.com.

  3. The DNS records (Brevo code and DKIM) that need to be added to your domain host display.

🚀 Step 3: Add the DNS records to your domain host

  1. Open a new tab in your navigator and access your Amen account.
  2. Under Domaines (Domains), select the subdomain or domain that you want to authenticate.mceclip1.png
  3. Select Domaines et DNS (Domains and DNS).

  4. Select Configuration DNS (DNS configuration).

  5. Go to the Gestion avancée (Advanced management) tab.

  6. Click Ajouter un enregistrement (Add a record).
  7. Create a DNS entry of TXT type: DKIM. 
  8. Copy the Hostname field from Brevo and paste it into the Nom (Name) field of Amen.

  9. Copy the Value field from Brevo and paste it into the Valeur (Value) field of Amen.

  10. Leave the TTL field as is and click Valider (Confirm). 
    ❗️ Important
    It may take up to 24-48 hours for DNS changes to propagate fully.
  11. Go back to Brevo and click Verify & Authenticate or Authenticate. 
  12. Once the configuration is complete, a green check appears next to the Value field in Brevo.

Your domain has been authenticated, and your emails will now be signed with your own domain name in your recipients' mailbox! 🚀⬇️
