Transactional logs correspond to the actions performed on the transactional SMS, such as when an SMS was sent, delivered, or when a contact unsubscribed.
Access your SMS transactional logs
To access your SMS transactional logs, go to Transactional > SMS > Logs.
From there, you can easily:
- Filter your transactional logs over a period of time.
- Search for transactional logs by typing your SMS message ID, name, or sender.
- Filter your transactional logs by event (status) or tag.
- Refresh the page to view the most recent transactional logs.
- Download in CSV format by clicking the 📥 Download icon.

Manage the retention period of your SMS transactional logs
By default, Brevo stores all your SMS transactional logs with no time limit. However, you can choose to manage the retention period of your SMS transactional logs by specifying for how long you want to store them.
To manage the retention period of your transactional logs and email previews, go to Transactional > SMS > Settings > Retention rules. From there, you have two options:
This option is selected by default.
Select this option if you want to store your transactional logs with no time limit unless you delete them manually.
Select this option if you want to store your transactional logs for a limited period of time only. This option is useful if you want to avoid having to delete logs manually on a regular basis to comply with GDPR.
You can select a period from 1 to 60 months. In that case, your transactional logs will be automatically deleted after the specified period of time.
