Send at best time - Optimize your campaign's sending time

đź’ˇ Good to know
This feature is available for Business and Enterprise offers.

With the Send at best time option, let Brevo determine for each of your contacts the time at which the sending of your email campaign will generate the most engagement.

Good to know

  • The Send at best time feature is not available for A/B test email campaigns and for email campaigns for which you have enabled the Dedicated IP warm-up option.
  • For emails sent from Campaigns, if you have enabled the Frequency cap and chose the Send at best time option, your email campaign will be sent at the best time estimated for your contacts on the date you selected. The frequency cap will be calculated at the beginning of the campaign sending and all contacts affected at that time will be skipped. To learn more about the Frequency cap, check our dedicated article Limit your marketing pressure with sending cadence.

What is the "Send at best time" option?

When creating an email campaign, once you've completed all the configuration steps, you are ready to test and send your campaign. To send your email campaign, click Schedule at the top-right corner of your screen:

You can choose between Send now, Schedule for later, and Send at best time. Select Send at best time to maximize your campaign’s results:

Simply choose the date on which to send your campaign and click Send at best time.

On that day, Brevo will use data science to determine when your contacts are most likely to engage and will send your emails at that time. All contacts will receive the email within 24 hours.

How does Brevo determine the best sending time?

The best sending time is calculated for each individual recipient and optimized for the best open rates (vs. sending in bulk all at once). Brevo learns from each campaign you send, and over time, the best time for each contact becomes more precise.

For contacts who have never received an email campaign from you before, the best sending time will be determined differently depending on your situation:

You already sent email campaigns with Brevo

The best sending time will be based on:

  • Your average opens and clicks
Brevo analyzes the average open and click rates from your previous campaigns to identify patterns in recipient engagement.
  • Weekdays
Brevo analyzes engagement across different weekdays to find trends indicating which days result in higher engagement for your audience.
  • Your overall average
Brevo calculates an overall average of engagement metrics across all your past contacts and campaigns.
You never sent email campaigns with Brevo

The best sending time will be based on the Brevo average.
We will use aggregate data from Brevo to analyze overall trends from emails sent by other users to determine the best sending times. However, for best results, we recommend that you use the send time optimization option after sending at least a few email campaigns.

Can I use "Send at best time" to send a campaign on the current day?

Yes, you can but if the best time has passed for some contacts, the message will be sent on the next day within 24 hours.

However, for time-sensitive campaigns, such as webinars or event registrations, it is recommended to use the Send now or Schedule for later options.

Can I use "Send at best time" for my first Brevo campaign?

We recommend using the Send now or Schedule for later option when sending your first campaign. Brevo will learn from your campaign’s engagement to determine the optimal send time for future campaigns.
