A mirror link (View in browser) is a link at the top of your email that allows your recipients to view the email in their web browser. While optional, it's useful when email clients block images or distort formatting. This ensures your content remains accessible and consistent across all devices and email clients.
You can choose to add a mirror link:
Before you start
If you're designing your emails with the HTML editor, check our dedicated section Email link and preview variables in the [Manual] Personalize your messages with dynamic content (Brevo Template Language) article.
🪞 Add a mirror link by default to all email campaigns
You can add a mirror link by default to all your email campaigns:
- Click the account dropdown and select Settings > Campaigns > Default Settings.
- In the Default campaign settings section, search for the Add a 'View in browser' link to all campaigns option and select Yes.
- Click Save.
❓ Can I remove a default mirror link from my email campaigns?
Yes. To remove a default mirror link from an individual email campaign:
- Access the Additional settings of your email campaign and click Edit settings.
- In the Design section, uncheck the Enable 'View in browser' link box.
- Click Save.
📝 Manually add a mirror link to individual emails
To add a mirror link to individual emails rather than activating it by default, add it manually to email campaigns or templates. Depending on the editor you are using, adding a mirror link to your emails differs:
- Access the drag and drop email editor.
- In the left panel, click the Style tab.
- Open the Template section.
- Activate the View in browser option. The mirror link appears at the top of your email design.
- (Optional) Personalize the text format and content:
- To change your text format, such as color or size, use the top toolbar.
- To change your text content, avoid deleting the entire default text, or else it will erase the mirror link. Instead, delete the default text while leaving at least one character. Once you've added your own text, erase the remaining character.
- Access the simple editor and place your cursor where you want to add a mirror link, typically at the top of the email.
- In the top toolbar, click the Add link icon 🔗.
- In the Link target field, enter
{{ mirror }}. It is the variable that will be replaced with the mirror link at the time of sending. - In the Link title field, enter the text that will contain your mirror link, typically View in browser.
- (Optional) Check the Open in new tab box to ensure that when recipients click the link, it opens in a separate tab without navigating them away from their current page.
- Click Insert.
- (Optional) Use the top toolbar to change your text format, such as color or size.
