If you are migrating from another app, you have to import your blocklisted contacts into Brevo. This is an important step to ensure that you don't reach out to invalid or unsubscribed contacts.

Import a list of blocklisted contacts
Importing blocklisted contacts follows the same process as importing regular contacts, but requires enabling specific additional options before confirmation.
To import a list of blocklisted contacts:
- Create an import file that contains your blocklisted contacts. To learn how to create an import file, check our dedicated article Create a file to import your contacts.
- Import it into Brevo. To learn how to import contacts, check our dedicated article Import your contacts to Brevo.
- Map the data of the contacts to your Brevo attributes.
- Add the contacts to a specific list.
- Mark the contacts as blocklisted from specific communication channels by enabling the following options:
- Blocklist your contacts from receiving your email campaigns.
- Blocklist your contacts from receiving your SMS campaigns.
- Blocklist your contacts from receiving your WhatsApp campaigns.
- Click Confirm your import to begin importing your blocklisted contacts.
You will then be redirected to the Contacts page.

Once your import is complete, you can download a report with the details of your import, including the number of added contacts, existing contacts, invalid email addresses, etc. You'll also receive an email including this summary.
On your Contacts page, blocklisted contacts are marked with a chip in the Blocklisted column that shows which channel they're blocklisted from.
