Overview and answers to your most common questions concerning the Payments app on Brevo.

💰General

💵 Am I charged for using Payments, and are there any transfer fees?

Access to Payments app is free. We do not take any fees on incoming payments. For example, if your customer pays 100€, you will receive 100€ on the Payments app. However, we charge a 1% commission and VAT, if applicablewhen you transfer the money from the Payments app to your bank account. With Payments, there are no fixed or setup fees, and the app is free. 

Unlike many other payment solutions, there is no subscription or minimal volume to use Payments, and the commission is very low. 

⛑ Is Payments safe for my business and customers?

A payment link is a secure payment method for your business and your customers because it is encrypted, and only accessible to you and the people you shared the link with. It also requires your customers to complete an additional verification step with the card issuer when paying with the 3-D Secure protocol

⛔️ Can my Payments account or some of my payment links be blocked? 

Yes, if your Payments account or one of your payment links do not comply with the regulations imposed in terms of products or services prohibited or restricted for sale on Payments, we reserve the right to block your Payments account or link.

✅ How do customers know that they successfully paid for my products or services? 

Your customers will receive a confirmation email when their payment is successful:

You can choose a custom success page to redirect your customers after payment. You could redirect them to a specific website page, like a schedule page for yoga courses for example, or simply a landing page with a successful payment message that will reassure them. On your side, you can choose to receive a payment notification each time a customer purchases a product or service from your payment link. To learn more, check our dedicated section in the article Part 1: Create a payment link.

When a payment fails, both you and your client will receive an email notification to let you know the payment has failed.

➖ Can I remove the mentions of Brevo in the confirmation email and the payment page? 

It is not yet possible to remove the mentions of Brevo from the confirmation emails and payment pages. 

👮‍♀️ Are there products or services I cannot sell?

Some products or services are prohibited or restricted to sell on Payments. To learn more, check our dedicated section in What is Payments?

👥 Can I segment the customers who paid via one of my payment links in Contacts and use them in automation workflows?

Yes, you can include customers who paid via one of your payment links in your contact segmentation. When a customer completes payment on one of your payment links, they are added to your contacts, and you can segment them using the filter Payments > Payment done, and complete other attributes. 

🔀 Can I include customers who paid via one of my payment links in automation workflows? 

Yes. This can be useful if you sell subscriptions and want to remind your customers to renew their subscriptions. When a customer completes a payment on one of your payment links, they are added to Contacts, and you can segment them using the filter Payments > Payment done. Once you created the segment, you can include your customers in your automation workflows using the Contact filter conditions entry point and choosing the segment you just created. 

🏦 Transfer and payments

🤑 Where will I receive my payments? 

When customers purchase your products or services through one of your payment links, the money is transferred and stored to your Payments app. You can view your current balance at the top-right of your Payments > Transactions page:

You will then be able to transfer the money to the bank account you provided when you registered for the Payments app. We only charge a 1% commission and VAT, if applicable. To learn more, check our dedicated article Transfer your revenue from Payments to your bank account.

📆 In how many days will I receive my payments and transfer?

Your payments will usually appear on your Payments account within 2-3 days. In the meantime, you can see your pending balance below your current balance.

When you transfer money from the Payments app to your bank account, the transfer usually also takes 2-3 days

🌎 Are there any restrictions on the bank account to which you transfer payments? 

Your bank account has to be in France to receive payments. By default, the revenue from your Payments app will be transferred to the bank account you provided when you registered for the Payments app.  

💶 What currencies are accepted on Payments? 

Payments is available to users in France and accepts payments in euros only. However, your customers can pay in any currency, which will be converted to euros upon receipt.

💳 Which payment methods are accepted on Payments? 

Currently, your customers can pay with:

  • VISA,
  • MasterCard,
  • American Express (Amex),
  • Credit cards, and
  • ApplePay on iPhone and Safari.

🔴 Why does a payment appear as failed? 

A payment can appear as failed for many reasons, such as: 

  • Not enough funds on the customer's credit card, 
  • 3-D Secure failed, 
  • Credit card not supported

  • Faulty internet connection
  • Incorrect payment details
  • And others. 

When a payment fails, both you and your client will receive an email notification to let you know the payment has failed. You will soon be able to check why a payment failed from the Payments > Transactions page.

🔙 Can I make refunds to my customers from the Payments app? 

Yes. To refund a customer, go to the Transactions dashboard and click the reference link of the payment you would like to refund. Click Refund next to Paid for, and click Refund xx.xx€ to confirm. The refund will appear in the Transactions dashboard and the original payment will appear as refunded. payments_refund_EN-US copy.png

🔗 Payment links

💻 How and where can I share my payment links? 

You can share your payment links anywhere, anytime! Inside or outside Brevo, by email, SMS, or any other communication channel because a payment link is a simple URL that can be pasted anywhere, on any device. To learn more, check our dedicated article Share payment links with your customers

👯 Can I create multiple payment links? 

You can create as many payment links as you need. Ensure you only share activated and up-to-date links with your clients. 

🚧 Is there a limit in the number of products and services I can add to my payment links? 

There is no limit. You can add as many items (products or services) as you need. To learn how to add items to your payment link, check our dedicated article Create a payment link.

✍️ Can I edit or delete a payment link? 

Click icon-edit.png to edit your payment link from the Payment links page. You will be redirected to the page where you created the payment link, which works the same way as when you initially created the link. To learn more, check our dedicated article Part 1: Create a payment link.

To delete a link, click meatball-menu-icon.pngDelete link, and Yes, delete this link to confirm. A deleted link cannot be retrieved, and you won't be able to receive payments from it anymore. You can also deactivate a link by toggling off its status. People with the link will not be able to access your payment page anymore. You can reactivate it anytime by toggling on the status.

🤨 What happens if a payment link is deactivated? 

If your payment link is deactivated, the URL will be disabled, and your customers won't be able to access it:

You also won't be able to receive payments from this link anymore. Your payment link can be reactivated anytime. To learn more, check our dedicated article Manage your payment links.
