I can't install the Brevo plugin for WooCommerce

WooCommerce isn't installed

Before installing the Brevo plugin for WooCommerce, make sure the WooCommerce plugin is installed and activated on your WordPress website. To learn more, check the WooCommerce documentation.

The pre-installation steps weren't completed

A "Something went wrong" error can occur if the connection between your WooCommerce store and Brevo is rejected. Make sure you've completed the pre-installation steps in Brevo plugin for WooCommerce - Install the plugin on your website, then try installing the plugin again.

Your WooCommerce store isn't publicly accessible

Your WooCommerce store must be publicly accessible. Make sure the website doesn't require credentials to access it, such as a pop-up login window.

The REST API is deactivated

The REST API must be activated on your WooCommerce store. To check whether it's activated, go to https://www.yourstore.com/wp-json and replace yourstore.com with your actual WooCommerce store URL.

  • If the REST API is enabled, the page displays JSON data.
  • If it's disabled, you'll see a "Not found" error message.

To learn how to resolve this issue, check the WooCommerce documentation.

I'm having issues syncing my WooCommerce contacts to Brevo

Your contacts aren't being synced

If contact synchronization is activated but your contacts aren't syncing:

  1. In Brevo, click the account dropdown and select Integrations > My integrations.
  2. Next to your WooCommerce integration, click the three-dot icon and select Sync details.
  3. (Optional) If some data failed to sync, click Download the error report to identify the issue.
  4. Choose how you want to re-sync:
    • Click Sync now to synchronize all data.
    • Click the reload icon 🔄 next to Customers to synchronize only customers.
  5. (Optional) Activate Preserve contacts' existing subscription statuses in Brevo if you want to keep their current statuses unchanged.
  6. Click Sync now.

If the issue persists, contact our support team by creating a ticket from your account.

The customer is a guest or didn't check the opt-in box

Guest customers and customers who don't select the marketing opt-in checkbox are:

  • Synced as blocklisted for email marketing.
  • Added to the WooCommerce_NonSubscribers list.
  • Given the following attributes:
    • WC_SUBSCRIPTION_STATUS: not subscribed
    • WC_DOUBLE_OPTED: not-opted

This is expected behavior when the customer hasn't subscribed to your marketing emails.

The customer hasn't confirmed their double opt-in

If you're using double opt-in, a customer who subscribes but hasn't clicked the confirmation link will:

  • Be synced as subscribed for email marketing.
  • Be added to WooCommerce_NonSubscribers.
  • Have the following attributes:
    • WC_SUBSCRIPTION_STATUS: subscribed
    • WC_DOUBLE_OPTED: pending
❗️ Important
These contacts haven't completed the subscription process and shouldn't receive marketing emails until they confirm their subscription.
Your visitors aren't being tracked as contacts

The Brevo tracker adds a cookie to visitors' browsers. However, a visitor must be identified before their activity can be associated with a contact. A visitor is identified when they:

  • Create an account or log in to your website.
  • Submit a Brevo form on your website.
  • Open or click a link in a transactional email sent from your Brevo account.
❗️ Important
Entering an email address during checkout alone doesn't identify the visitor for tracking.

Your orders aren't being synced

Once eCommerce synchronization is activated, your WooCommerce categories, customers, orders, and products should automatically sync to Brevo. If your orders aren't syncing:

  1. In Brevo, click the account dropdown and select Integrations > My integrations.
  2. Next to your WooCommerce integration, click the three-dot icon and select Sync details.
  3. (Optional) If some data failed to sync, click Download the error report.
  4. Choose how you want to re-sync:
    • Click Sync now to synchronize all data.
    • Click the reload icon 🔄 next to the relevant data type to synchronize only that data.

If the issue persists, contact our support team by creating a ticket from your account.

I'm having issues with my WooCommerce emails

The sender information is incorrect

The steps depend on the type of email template you're using.

If you use WooCommerce templates

In your WooCommerce admin dashboard, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails > Email sender. From there, you can edit the "From" name and email address.

If you use Brevo templates

  1. In Brevo, go to Marketing > Templates > Email.
  2. Open the template.
  3. Update the sender information in the template settings.
Personalization variables aren't replaced correctly

If variables appear as-is instead of being replaced with customer or order information, check that you're using the correct variable format for your template type.

Some order status emails aren't sent to customers

Some WooCommerce order emails are sent only to the store owner: order cancellation, failed order, and new order. Other order status emails can be sent to both the store owner and customers.

I'm having issues with the opt-in checkbox at checkout

The opt-in checkbox doesn't appear

If you've activated the checkout opt-in checkbox but it isn't displayed on your website, your domain host provider may be blocking the PUT requests created by the plugin.

To resolve the issue, contact your domain host provider and ask them to allow the PUT requests created by the Brevo plugin for WooCommerce. Once they confirm the changes have been made, uninstall the Brevo plugin and install it again.
