Setting up a dedicated IP in Brevo

In this article, we will explain how to set up a dedicated IP in Brevo.

Before you start

⚠️ Part 1: Setup prerequisite

We highly recommend creating a new subdomain on your main domain that you will associate with your dedicated IP.

❗️ Important
This new subdomain should only be dedicated to sending your emails on Brevo and shouldn't already be in use for something else. In other words, it should not be your website's main domain or a subdomain used for your webmail or messaging service. To make sure your brand is recognizable, this new domain should be as similar to your original domain as possible. For instance, if your website is hosted at yoursite.com, you could go for news.yoursite.comcontact.yoursite.com, or another subdomain of your choosing, provided that it will not be used for anything other than Brevo.

⚙️ Part 2: Configure the dedicated IP

Once you have purchased a dedicated IP from your My Plan page, you now need to associate your domain with your dedicated IP to be able to use it and authenticate your domain:

  1. Click your name on the top-right side of the screen.
  2. Access Senders & IP.
  3. Click the Dedicated IPs section.
  4. Click Associate a domain under the dedicated IP address you want to associate.

❓Part 3: Choose a method to associate your domain to your dedicated IP

Depending on your web host and configuration, you may choose between two methods to set up your dedicated IP in Brevo:

Simple Advanced

Point a new subdomain to our NS servers

The Simple method is recommended if you use the domain you will associate with this IP only for the sending of emails with Brevo. This method allows you to implement all the records and authentication protocols by setting up two NS records on your web host. We recommend you use this method, as it means that the records on your subdomain will be maintained and continuously updated.
