User roles allow you to assign specific roles with a predefined set of permissions to your users. Instead of managing individual user permissions one by one, you can assign users to roles that align with their responsibilities. This simplifies user onboarding, minimizes accidental permission changes, and saves valuable time.
Create a user role
To create a user role with a predefined set of permissions:
- Click the account dropdown and select Users > User roles.
- Click + Create a user role.
- Select the specific permissions to assign to the user role.

- Name the user role.
- Click Create the user role.
Assign a user role
Once you've created a user role, you can assign it to new or existing users:
- Click the account dropdown and select Users.
- Create a new user or click the email address of the existing user you want to edit.
- Select User role.
- From the Select an option dropdown, select the user role you want to assign to the user.
- Click Send invitation.
- In case of additional costs for the user, review the summary on the checkout page. This summary contains information about the next billing for this user and the immediate pro-rate billing between the day you assign the user role and the end of your current billing cycle.
- Send the invitation to the new user or confirm the modifications for the existing user.
Edit a user role
If the user role is already assigned to one or several users, editing it will also modify the permissions of those users.
To edit a user role and change its permissions:
- Click the account dropdown and select Users > User roles.
- Click the name of the user role you want to edit.
- If the user role is already assigned to a user, click Continue to confirm you want to edit it.
- (Optional) Rename the user role:
- Click Edit the user role name.
- Rename the user role.
- Click Edit the user role name.
- Add and/or remove permissions from the user role.

- If the user role is already assigned to one or several users and there are additional costs, review the summary on the checkout page. This summary contains information about the next billing for the users and the immediate pro-rate billing between the day you edit the permissions of the user role and the end of your current billing cycle.
- Confirm the modifications.
Remove a user role from a user
To remove a user role from a user:
- Click the account dropdown and select Users.
- Click the email address of the user you want to edit.
- Select the new permissions you want to give to the user.
- Click Save the changes.
- In case of additional costs for the user, we will provide you with information about the next billing for this user and the immediate pro-rate billing between the day you remove the user role and the end of your current billing cycle.
- Confirm the modifications.
Delete a user role
You can only delete a user role that isn't assigned to any user. If you need to delete a user role that is already assigned, first remove the user role from the affected users, and then proceed with deleting the user role.
To delete a user role:
- Click the account dropdown and select Users > User roles.
- Click the three dots icon next to the user role you want to edit and select Delete the user role.
- Click Delete this user role to confirm.
