Supported keywords for SMS (HELP, STOP, START, INFO)

Brevo automatically processes the following SMS opt-out keywords:

  • HELP
Brevo will respond with the following message:
Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or call 844-744-2639.
  • STOP
Brevo will automatically unsubscribe and blocklist the contact from your database to be excluded from future sending. The STOP keyword is mandatory for some countries. To learn more, check our dedicated article Include an unsubscribe option in your SMS messages.
🇳🇴 Opt-out keyword specific to Norway recipients

The STOP code doesn't work in Norway. You have to include the UNSUB code instead to enable your Norway recipients to unsubscribe to your SMS campaigns.

    💡 Good to know
To comply with applicable US laws, always include STOP. To learn more about the United States SMS marketing regulations, check our dedicated article Always comply with the United States SMS marketing regulations with our compliance feature.
The START keyword allows your contact to re-subscribe to your SMS messages if they had previously send STOP. Their subscription status on Brevo will automatically change from Blocklisted to Subscribed for your SMS campaigns. If they were not subscribed to your SMS campaigns before, their status will also automatically be set to Subscribed
  • INFO
Brevo will respond with the following message:
To learn more, go to 1 msg/mo. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Msg&Data rates may apply.
