Brevo Missions helps your sales team run personalized outreach campaigns at scale. Instead of spending time crafting individual emails or manually updating your CRM, Missions handles these tasks automatically, so your reps can focus on building relationships and closing deals.
Before you start
- Connect your team mailbox: click the account dropdown and select Settings > Inbox > Email and click Connect a mailbox. The assistant needs a connected mailbox to send emails on your behalf.
- Make sure you have added an email signature to all outgoing emails.
- Make sure your contacts and companies are up to date in Brevo. The AI uses this data to personalize outreach.
Good to know
- A contact or company can only be active in one mission at a time.
- When a mission is paused, new actions stop being generated, but actions already planned or pending review remain in place.
- A contact enrolled individually in a mission is treated separately from their company's enrollment, and is excluded from that company's multithreading outreach.
- Contacts that are blocklisted cannot be enrolled in a mission and will be automatically excluded.
- The Missions AI never takes an action without human validation.
Step 1: Set up your mission
A mission is a targeted outreach campaign that the AI runs on your behalf. You define the goal and the strategy in a brief, and the AI handles email crafting, CRM updates, and next-best-action recommendations.
- Go to Missions.
- Click Create a mission.
- Enter a mission name that describes your outreach goal.
-
Write your Mission Brief. This is where you describe your strategy. We recommend that the Mission Brief include the following information:
- Objective: what you want the AI to achieve (for example, book a 20-minute discovery call with decision-makers).
- Success criteria: what marks the outreach as successful for a given company (for example, a contact agrees to a call).
- Failure criteria: what marks the outreach as unsuccessful (for example, all contacts at the company explicitly decline or ask to be removed).
- Multithreading: how many contacts at the same company the AI should engage in parallel (for example, up to 5 contacts at once).
- Timing: how long to wait between follow-ups, and the maximum number of touchpoints per contact.
💡 Good to knowThe Mission Brief overrides the assistant's default behavior. The more specific your brief, including details on your target segments, tone, and messaging approach, the more tailored the outreach will be. - Click Create mission.
Once created, click your mission to open its details, which contains four tabs: Overview (performance metrics), Enrolled companies, Enrolled contacts, and Brief. You can review or update your mission brief at any time from the Brief tab by clicking Edit brief.
Step 2: Enroll companies and contacts in your mission
Once your mission is created, enroll the companies or contacts you want the AI to reach out to.
- Go to Missions.
- Click your mission name to open its details.
- Open the Enrolled companies tab to enroll companies, or the Enrolled contacts tab to enroll contacts.
- Click + Enroll companies or + Enroll contacts.
-
You can enroll companies or contacts from the companies or contacts listing or from a company's or contact's details page.
To enroll companies or contacts in bulk:
- Select the companies or contacts that you want to enroll:
- To select multiple individual companies or contacts, select the checkboxes next to the companies or contacts.
- To select all of the companies or contacts on your current page, select the checkbox at the top left of the table.
- To select all of the companies or contacts, select the checkbox at the top left of the table and click Select all # companies or Select all # contacts.
- Click Enroll in mission in the actions bar.
To enroll a single company or contact:
- Click the company or contact you want to enroll to open its details page.
- Click the three-dot More icon > Enroll company in a mission or Enroll contact in a mission.
- Select the companies or contacts that you want to enroll:
- In the Enroll company in a mission or Enroll contact in a mission window, select the mission from the Mission dropdown.
- Click Enroll.
If a company or contact you're enrolling is already active in another mission, you will not be able to enroll it.
Step 3: Add knowledge sources to your missions
Add company context and documents that the AI uses to ground its outreach content. This information is shared across every mission in your account, not just one.
- Go to Missions.
- Click Manage assets.
- Fill in your Company context to help the AI understand your business before it drafts outreach:
- Enter your company name.
- Enter the industry your company operates in.
- Enter a short company description.
- Click Save.
-
Click Add data sources to upload documents or add other knowledge sources, such as playbooks or product information.
💡 Good to knowYou need to click request access before being able to add data sources for the first time.- On the Knowledge sources page, click Add content.
- Select the type of content you want to add:
- Upload document: upload files from your computer. You can upload up to 10 files, with a total size of 100 MB.
- Write an article: write content directly in Brevo.
- Sync website: sync a Help Center or documentation website and select the pages to import.
-
Sync Notion: connect your Notion account and choose which pages to share with Brevo.
After you add a source, you can preview, download, or delete it from the Knowledge sources page. You can also click Preview Agent on the Knowledge sources page to ask a question and preview the AI's answer.
Step 4: Review and send AI-generated actions
Once a mission is active, the Missions AI assistant generates personalized actions for each contact, starting with crafting and sending emails. You can review and approve these actions before they are taken.
- Action generation usually takes a couple of minutes. When actions are ready, a banner showing "## action to review" at the top of the Missions details page appears.
- You can also review the action for a single company from the Enrolled companies tab, or for a single contact from the Enrolled contacts tab. Click the three-dot icon next to the company or contact > Review actions.
- Go to Missions.
- Click your mission to open its details page and click Review actions.
- On the Review actions page, each contact with a pending action appears as its own tab. For each action, you can see:
- The contact and company it is targeted at.
- Action recommended: a short explanation of what the AI wants to do next.
- Action insights: the reasoning behind the recommendation.
- An account overview and recent company history, for extra context.
- The drafted email: sender, recipient, subject, and body.
- (Optional) Edit the email content directly in the draft if you want to adjust the message before it is sent.
- By default, the email is sent immediately once you validate it. Click Edit sending time if you want to schedule it for later.
- Click Validate action to send the email, or Review later to come back to it. Once validated, the email sends automatically and the assistant recalculates and suggests the next action for that contact.
Step 5: Monitor your mission
To monitor your missions, go to Missions and click a mission to open its details page. The details page has three tabs to help you track progress. Expand the following accordions to learn what each tab shows.
From the Overview tab, you can see your mission performance:
- Total enrolled contacts: the number of contacts enrolled in the mission.
- Actions to review: how many AI-generated actions are waiting for your review.
- Completed: how many companies and contacts have completed the mission.
- Positive outcome: how many companies and contacts completed with a positive outcome.
You can also see your email metrics: total emails sent, open rate, and reply rate.
From the Enrolled companies tab, you can see the status of each enrolled company:
- Active: the AI is actively working on this company.
- Completed: the company has been marked as completed, with either a positive or negative outcome.
For any enrolled company, click the three-dot menu to view the company record, view its enrolled contacts, or mark it as complete.
Each enrolled contact has a status:
- Eligible: the contact has been automatically enrolled and is awaiting outreach.
- Active: outreach has occurred or is planned for this contact.
- Not eligible: the contact doesn't have an email address or is blocklisted.
From the Enrolled contacts tab, you can see the status of each enrolled contact:
- Active: the AI is actively working on this contact.
- Completed: the contact has been marked as completed, with either a positive or negative outcome.
For any enrolled contact, click the three-dot menu to view the contact record or mark the contact as complete.

-
Pause or resume a mission: click the pause icon next to the mission to stop generating new actions, or click the play icon to resume.
❓FAQs
Which language will the AI use for my outreach emails?
The AI checks the company's domain to choose a language. For example, it generates an email in English for a .com domain, and in French for a .fr domain. If a specific contact needs their email in a different language, add a note on that contact specifying their language.
What happens if I add a contact to a company after enrolling it in a mission?
Contacts added to a company after that company has already been enrolled in a mission are not automatically included in the mission's outreach.
