Organize your existing contacts into lists (add, move, and remove)

You can organize your contacts by adding them to a list or moving them from one list to another. You can also remove contacts from a list.

👤 Add existing contacts to a list

To add contacts to a list:

  1. Go to Contacts.
  2. Optional: Click Add a filter to filter your contacts, for example, by language or added date. You can also load a list or a segment if you've already created one.
  3. Select the contacts that you would like to add to a list:

    1. To select multiple individual contacts, select the checkboxes next to the contacts.
    2. To select all of the contacts on your current page, select the checkbox at the top left of the table.
    3. To select all of the contacts on your current list or database, select the checkbox at the top left of the table and click Select all the # contacts.
  4. Click Add to a list(s).

  5. In the Lists field, select one or several lists to which you want to add your contacts.

  6. Click Add.

Your contacts will be added to the target list(s) you selected.

➡️ Move contacts from one list to another

To move your contacts from one list to another:

  1. Go to Contacts.
  2. Click Load a list or a segment and select a list.

  3. Select the contacts that you would like to move to another list:

    1. To select multiple individual contacts, select the checkboxes next to the contacts.
    2. To select all of the contacts on your current page, select the checkbox at the top left of the table.
    3. To select all of the contacts on your current list or database, select the checkbox at the top left of the table and click Select all the # contacts.
  4. Click Add to a list(s).

  5. In the Lists field, select one or several lists to which you want to move your contacts.
  6. Check the Remove also the contacts from this list option to move the contacts to the target list and remove them from their source list.contacts_move-remove_EN-US.jpeg
    ❗️ Important
    • The option to remove contacts from a list when moving them is only available if you have loaded the list before selecting your contacts and have applied no other filters or segments.
    • You can only remove contacts from one list at a time when moving them. If you have filtered your contacts based on several lists, they can only be removed from the first list you chose.
  7. Click Add.

Your contacts will be added to the target list(s) you selected.

❌ Remove contacts from one or several lists

💡 Good to know

Removing contacts from one or all lists does not delete them. They will still appear in their other lists or from All contacts.

To remove contacts from a list:

  1. Go to Contacts.
  2. Click Load a list or a segment and select a list or a segment.

  3. Select the contacts that you would like to remove from the loaded list or segment:

    1. To select multiple individual contacts, select the checkboxes next to the contacts.
    2. To select all of the contacts on your current page, select the checkbox at the top left of the table.
    3. To select all of the contacts on your current list or database, select the checkbox at the top left of the table and click Select all the # contacts.
  4. Click More actions > Remove from list(s).

  5. Select:
    • Remove it from this list "[Your list or segment name]" only.
    • Remove them from all your lists.
  6. Click Remove.

Your contacts will be removed from the selected list(s) or all your lists.
