Create and manage categories for your segments

In this article, we'll learn how to create and manage segments on the Segments page.

Segments can be stored in categories. Categories are useful to classify and organize several segments used for a common goal or by a specific user.

Create a new category

You can create a new category to store your segments:

  1. From Segments, click All categories and + Create a category.

  2. Name your category.
  3. Click Create

Your new category has been created.

Rename a category

You can rename a category:

  1. From Segments, click All categories.
  2. On the left of the category that you want to rename, click the three dots icon. 
  3. Give a new name to your category and click Rename.

Your category has been renamed.

Move a segment to another category

You can move a segment to another category:

  1. From Segments, click Change category under your segment.

  2. Choose the category you want to move your segment to. 
    💡 Good to know
    You can create a new category from this field by clicking Create a Category in the dropdown. 
  3. Click Move.

Your segment has been moved to the new category.

Delete a category

💡 Good to know
If the category you want to delete contains segments, you will be able to store them in another category before the deletion.

You can delete a category:

  1. From Segments, click All categories.
  2. On the left of the category that you want to delete, click the three dots icon. 
  3. Click Delete

  4. (Optional) If the category you want to delete contains segments, select the new category where you want to move your segments and click Move segments and delete category.

Your category has been deleted.
