Brevo requires you to register a Sender ID for each country where you send SMS messages. This helps protect your brand identity, ensures successful message delivery, prevents spoofing, supports local regulatory compliance, and enhances the credibility of your communications.

Before you start

• On Brevo, the Sender ID registration is mandatory for all countries receiving your SMS messages. This applies to both marketing and transactional messages.
• Understand and follow the SMS marketing regulations in your recipient country.
• Follow our best practices to ensure the best SMS deliverability.
• Sender ID registration may lead to additional costs in some countries (UAE, Romania, New Zealand, and USA for A2P10DLC and short code IDs). 

❓ What is a Sender ID? 

A Sender ID is the name or number shown as the SMS sender on recipients' devices that allows recipients to recognize the message source. It contains between 3 and 11 characters and is alphanumeric (brand name). Registering your Sender ID helps protect your brand, verify authenticity, and improve deliverability.

Each country requires a separate registered Sender ID, as formats and rules vary. This means SMS messages may show different Sender IDs based on recipient location:

✈️ Register a Sender ID

1. Click the account dropdown and go to Settings > Campaigns > SMS Sender ID and click Configure.
2. Click Request Sender ID.
   
3. On the SMS Sender ID page, start typing the name of a country where you want to send SMS messages and select it. 
   
4. Click Continue. 
5. Provide your Company information:
   

   Sender ID Name or number you want to appear as the sender of your SMS messages on your recipients' mobile devices. Each country has its own rules and regulations concerning Sender IDs. ➡️ To learn more about our top-sending countries' Sender ID regulations, check our dedicated article Country specific guidelines and restrictions for SMS messages. Company location Select the option corresponding to your Sender ID: Local, your company is registered in the same country as the country for which you are registering. International, your company is registered in a different country than the one for which you are registering the Sender ID.  Company name Name of your company or brand as it appears on your legal documents. Company website Enter the URL to your company website, e.g., https://www.brevo.com. Proof of brand Upload a document that proves you own the brand or you are allowed to use the brand name, such as your company or brand registration certificate.

6. Click Continue.
7. Provide samples of your SMS content:
   

   Content type Select the type of SMS messages you will be sending with this Sender ID. You can select both: Promotional (via campaigns): welcome offers, discounts, deals... Transactional (via Automations, plugin, or SMTP): order status updates, delivery notifications, subscription status... Number of SMS per month Enter an estimated number of SMS messages you would like to send per month with this Sender ID. Sample message Provide an example of the SMS messages you typically send to your recipients for each content type you selected above. Domain Enter your website domain that you typically include in your SMS messages when you send a link. For example, if your website link is https://www.brevo.com, your domain is brevo.com.

8. Click Submit.
9. Repeat the steps for each country in which you will be sending SMS messages.

Congratulations! 🎉 Your Sender ID registration has been submitted. You can track your request's progress by accessing your SMS Sender ID settings. Processing time varies depending on the country for which you registered. 

✅ Select a Sender ID when sending an SMS 

Once your Sender ID is validated, you will be able to send your SMS messages from Brevo. To select your Sender ID: 

1. Create an SMS campaign. 
2. In the Sender ID dropdown, select the Sender IDs corresponding to the countries to which your SMS message will be sent. You can only select one Sender ID per country. 
   
3. Finish your SMS campaign creation.
