Send one-to-one SMS from Brevo

To help you communicate seamlessly and efficiently with your contacts and customers, you can compose and send SMS from your contact, deal, or company details page or directly from Conversations. For North America (US/CA), you can also receive and respond to your contacts' replies to your SMS campaigns or transactional SMS directly by SMS from Conversations.

Good to know

  • You can also receive your contacts' replies to your SMS campaigns or transactional SMS by email and reply to them by email. To learn more, check our dedicated article Receive and reply to SMS messages by email.
  • For France, your contacts cannot reply to SMS campaigns or transactional SMS.

Request a phone number to send SMS

❗️ Important
For now, sending one-to-one SMS is limited to specific regions: US and Canadian numbers can only send to US and Canadian numbers, and French numbers can only send to French numbers.

Before sending one-to-one SMS from Brevo to your customers, you need to request a dedicated SMS number:

  1. Click the account dropdown and select Settings > Inbox > SMS.
  2. Click Get phone number.

  3. Fill in the form:
    1. Country: France, USA, or Canada. You can also register your interest for another country.
    2. Business name: Your company's name.
    3. Contact name: Your full name.
    4. Contact email: Your email address.
  4. Click Submit.

💡 Good to know
If you do not send your SMS before leaving the page, a draft of your SMS will be saved automatically. To delete a draft, click on the bin icon next to Send.

You can send one-to-one SMS to your contacts from different pages of Brevo:

To send an SMS from a contact, company, or deal details page:

  1. Go to:
    • CRM > Contacts and search for the contact to whom you want to send an SMS.
    • CRM > Deals and search for the deal for which you want to send an SMS.
    • CRM > Companies and search for the company to which you want to send an SMS.
  2. Click your contact, company, or deal to access their details page.
  3. Click the SMS icon above SMS.

  4. Fill in your SMS:

    1. Select the phone number from which you want to send the SMS in the From field.
    2. Select the phone numbers to which you want to send the SMS in the To field.
    3. Write the content of your SMS.
      You can use saved replies, edit with Aura, and add emojis.
  5. Click Send.

📩 View and reply to SMS

Once your SMS has been sent, you can access it, receive and send replies directly from Conversations > Inbox, and filter by SMS. You can also access the History tab of your deals, companies, or contacts' details page and click View in Conversations

To filter a deal or contact history to view only SMS, click the 1-to-1 Interactions tab on the contact's history or Conversations in the deal or company's history.
