The unsubscribe link is a link that recipients can click from the footer of your email to open your Brevo unsubscribe page and stop receiving your emails. Having an unsubscribe link in your campaigns is mandatory as it is essential to your contacts and for the proper functioning of your campaigns. The process of inserting an unsubscribe link in your email campaigns is in two steps: you first need to add the unsubscribe link in your campaign design and then select which unsubscribe page it will lead to.
Before you start
Create a custom unsubscribe page for each language in which you write your email campaigns to ensure that your recipients will receive an unsubscribe link that corresponds to your branding and to their language. To learn more, check our dedicated article Customize an unsubscribe page to integrate into your email campaigns.
1️⃣ Add an unsubscribe link in your campaign design
Once you have created a custom unsubscribe page, you can add your unsubscribe link to your campaign design. The process for adding an unsubscribe link in your campaign design is different based on the editor you are using to build your email:
In the Drag & Drop Editors
- If you are using a Brevo template, the unsubscribe link is inserted by default in the footer. You just need to customize the footer to match your branding and select the custom unsubscribe page to use in the Advanced settings of your campaign creation flow.
- If you are creating your email campaign from scratch, drag and drop the Footer section at the end of your email design. By default, the Unsubscribe (here) word contains the unsubscribe link. You can customize the sentence and footer design to make them correspond to your tone of voice and branding.
In the HTML and Simple editors
Manually add an unsubscribe link in a campaign
To manually add an unsubscribe link in a campaign created in the HTML and Simple editors, simply insert an unsubscribe placeholder in an HTML hyperlink tag <a> based on the template language you're using:
In the Simple Editor or HTML editor, you will need to manually add an unsubscribe page link placeholder. To manually add an unsubscribe page link in an email:
