If your monthly email volume doesn't fit your needs anymore, you can add or remove emails to your Marketing Platform or Messaging API offer at anytime.
Good to know
The emails included in your plan need to be used within your monthly billing period. Any unused emails expire and won't carry over to the next month.
Add or remove emails from your plan
Depending on the offer you subscribed to, the process to add or remove emails can differ. Choose the process corresponding to your offer in the tabs below ⬇️:
To add or remove emails from a Marketing Platform plan:
- Click your account name > My Plan.
- From the Marketing Platform section, click Manage emails.
- Choose the email volume you need ⬇️:
If you add more emails to your plan, the change applies immediately, and you can use your new email volume. However, if you remove emails from your plan, the change will apply on your next billing date so that you can use your remaining credits until then.

When you add emails to your plan, you are charged immediately with a pro-rated charge from the date of your purchase to your next billing date. You will be charged each month on the date you first subscribed to a Brevo paid plan.
But you realize on the 27th that you now need 60k emails/month, so you add 20k emails/month to your plan. Since 60k emails/month costs 30€/month, you will immediately be charged 21.28€, which is the pro-rated charge, from the 27th of this month to the 18th of next month, which is your billing date.
When you remove emails from your plan, the change will apply on your next billing date, and you can use your remaining credits until then.
You cannot add more emails to a free Marketing Platform plan. To be able to send more than 300 emails per day with no daily sending limit, you need to upgrade your plan. To learn more, check our dedicated article Upgrade your plan.
When you select a paid Marketing Platform plan, you get to choose the total number of emails you wish to send each month. Your chosen email volume will determine the pricing tier you fall into, which also sets the limit for the total number of contacts you can have in Brevo.
If you have more contacts than what is allowed in the tier you are trying to select, it won't work. To be able to remove emails from your plan, you'll first need to delete some contacts from your account.
If you wish to send more emails than what is allowed in your current plan, you may need to upgrade your Marketing Platform offer to a higher plan:

With a Marketing Platform plan, you can use your email credits to send both marketing and transactional emails. The management of your monthly email volume is done from your Marketing Platform plan.

With a Messaging API plan, you can use your email credits to send transactional emails only. To be able to send both marketing emails and transactional emails, you need to subscribe to a Marketing Platform plan.
