Use automations to automatically send notifications to your contacts and move them to a different wallet pass when a specific event occurs, such as a loyalty tier change or a points update.
You can also send wallet notifications in other ways:
- For a one-time promotional message, use a Wallet campaign.
- When a contact is near one of your stores, use geofencing.
Before you start

Set up the automation
Go to Automations > Workflows and click + Create an automation. Select Start from scratch to build your automation step by step.
Once the automation is created, you are taken to the automation editor where you can add a trigger, an optional rule, and an action.
Brevo offers a variety of triggers, rules, and actions you can combine depending on your use case.
➡️ To learn more, check our dedicated article Available triggers, actions, and rules in an automation.
Step 1: Choose a trigger
The trigger determines when a contact enters the automation. Select the trigger that matches the event you want to respond to.
- From the Triggers tab in the automation editor, scroll to the Loyalty category and drag and drop the Tier association updated trigger into the canvas.
- Use the Loyalty and contact filters to configure the trigger settings to match the tier change you want to detect.
- Click Confirm trigger.
(Optional) Step 2: Add a rule
A rule defines the condition a contact or custom object record must meet to move to the next step in an automation. Rules let you adjust the flow based on behaviors, events, or contact details.
➡️ To learn more about the different rules available, check our dedicated article Available triggers, actions, and rules in an automation.
Step 3: Add a Wallet action
Wallet actions let you send notifications and manage which pass a contact is on. Three actions are available:
- Send a wallet notification: sends a push notification to the contact's device to share an event, update, or offer.
- Move to a wallet pass: moves the contact from one pass to another, based on the event defined in the trigger.
- Move to a wallet pass and notify: moves the contact to a new pass and sends a notification at the same time. Use this when you want to inform the contact about their new status or share an offer alongside the move.
To configure your Wallet action:
- From the Actions tab in the automation editor, scroll to the Wallet category and drag and drop one of the available actions for Wallet. In our example, we will drag and drop the Move to a wallet pass and notify action into the canvas.
- In the Source pass field, select the pass contacts are currently on. In our example, select the Silver card.
- In the Destination pass field, select the pass you want to move contacts to. In our example, select the Gold card.
- In the Notification title field, enter a title for your wallet notification. Ony users on Google Wallet will view this title. In our example: Gold status unlocked 🔑
- In the Notification message field, enter the message that will appear on the contact's device lock screen. In our example: Congrats! Your pass is now Gold ✨ Enjoy new rewards and exclusive yoga member benefits.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Activate the automation
Once your automation is configured, activate it so that contacts automatically enter and move through the workflow when the trigger conditions are met.
- Review all steps in the automation to make sure they are correctly configured.
- Click Activate automation.
- (Optional) If you want contacts to be able to enter the automation more than once (e.g., a contact can change tier levels multiple times), activate the Allow contact re-entry after exit option before activating the automation.
- (Optional) If you allowed contacts to re-enter the automation, you can set up a wait time delay before they can re-enter the automation.
- Click Activate automation.
Congratulations! Now, each time a contact meets the trigger conditions, they will be automatically moved to the destination pass and notified on their device lock screens as a push notification.
