Since April 1, 2025, Meta has temporarily suspended the sending of WhatsApp marketing templates to WhatsApp users who have a United States phone number (+1 dialing code and US area code). To learn more, check Meta's official documentation

With Brevo, you can create WhatsApp campaigns to send advertising and information messages to your contacts.

WhatsApp is the preferred communication channel with more than 2 billion users and potential contacts. By launching a WhatsApp campaign, you can:

  • Get better brand connections and engagement, with instant recognition;
  • Use 1:1 personalized communications, reaching customers where they are;
  • Take advantage of more formats than SMS and better engagement than email or SMS.

Before you start

🏷️ Name your WhatsApp campaign

Name your WhatsApp campaign to easily find it:

  1. Go to Marketing > Campaigns > WhatsApp and click Create campaign
  2. Choose WhatsApp
  3. Choose a name for your campaign (up to 60 characters). This name will only be visible to you, not to your recipients.
  4. Click Start.

💡 Good to know

🖌️ Message content: Design your message

We offer two options to design your WhatsApp message: you can either use a template that you created ahead of time, or you can start from scratch

💡 Good to know

Create your WhatsApp template in advance to ensure it will be ready when you need to launch your WhatsApp campaign. Meta has to approve templates before sending, and unapproved templates cannot be scheduled. You'll need to wait for Meta's approval to send your WhatsApp campaign.

  1. In the Message content section, click Start creating. The Select a WhatsApp template modal opens.
  2. Select one of the two options to design your message:

    1. Create from scratch
      Click Start from scratch to create a new WhatsApp template for this campaign. You will have to wait for Meta's approval to send your WhatsApp campaign.
      ➡️ To learn more about how to create a WhatsApp template, check our dedicated article Create a WhatsApp template
    2. Saved templates
      Browse your existing WhatsApp templates and click Use template to use one for this campaign.

Once your WhatsApp campaign is ready, and if your WhatsApp template is approved, you can schedule the sending of your WhatsApp campaign ⬇️.

📅 Schedule your campaign

❗️ Important
You will only be able to schedule your campaign if the WhatsApp template associated with it has the Approved status. In most cases, the validation of WhatsApp messages is automatic and only takes a few seconds. However, in the case of a manual review by WhatsApp, it could take up to 24 hours.

To schedule your campaign:

  1. Click Schedule.
  2. Select the date when you would like your campaign to be sent.
  3. Select the time when you would like your campaign to be sent.
    The time zone is specified below the time.
  4. Once you're done, click Save the date.
