Push campaigns reach your audience in real-time and can help you drive conversions. You can also target which contacts you want to reach.

Before you start
Make sure you've set up push notifications. To learn more, check our dedicated article Set up web push notifications.
📝 Step 1: Create your campaign
- Go to Marketing > Campaigns.
- Click Create campaign.
- Choose Push.
- Enter a Push campaign name that will help you find it easily in the list of your campaigns.
This name will only be visible to you. - Click Create campaign.
🖌️ Step 2: Design your campaign
To start designing your push campaign, click Create in the Message content section.
You are redirected to the design editing board. On the right, you can see a preview of what your push campaign will look like on your clients' devices. You can select the type of device you want to preview.

Choose a title.
Your push campaign title is the first thing your client will read. It has to be short, appealing, and introduce what you are promoting.Write the content.
The message of your push campaign allows you to share more about what you are promoting. Its function is to complete the title and add more details about what you want to share with your clients. You can add text, emoji, and contact variables{}. -
[Recommended] Add an image.
Click Select an image to choose an image for your push campaign in your Content library, or drag an image. Adding an image to your push campaign is helpful for illustrating what you are trying to promote and is visually appealing to clients. You can upload JPG, PNG, or GIF images with a maximum size of 5MB.
(Optional) Toggle Display larger image when possible.
Some Android apps and websites can display either large or small images. Activate this option to display a larger image at the bottom of your notification. -
(Optional) Enter a URL or deep link.
Define a link to redirect when users tap or click the notification. A URL or deep link tends to give direct access to what you are promoting.
Click Customize by platform to customize specific settings for each platform, such as a different link or notification sound.💡 Good to knowIf you leave this field blank, users will be redirected to the website or application you've set up. -
Send an optional JSON data payload along with your push notifications.
Android and iOS also support sending silent push notifications to update your app in the background without drawing users' attention. To learn more, check the WonderPush dedicated article Optional data payload. -
(Optional) Activate UTM parameters.
UTM parameters are tracking tags that you add to the end of URLs to measure your campaign performance.

Once you are done designing your push notification, click Save & Exit.
👥 Step 3: Add recipients
This step allows you to choose who you want to send your campaign to. You can only send your campaign to contacts who have allowed the opt-in. If you have no subscribers, you will not be able to schedule your push campaign.
- Click Recipients to expand the section.

Select lists or segments of contacts
you want to send the campaign to.
💡 Good to knowYou can see how many recipients will receive the campaign. -
(Optional) Click Advanced settings to:
- Exclude lists and segments, and add filters to further refine the recipients you want to exclude.

Choose the specific platform to send the push campaign to:
- Mobile Web: target users of your website using a mobile device.
- Desktop Web: target users of your website using a desktop computer.
- Android: target users of your Android mobile application.

iOS: target users of your iOS mobile
application.

- Click Save.
Step 4: Define a sending cadence
You can define both the delivery speed of your notifications and set limits on how many notifications users receive within a specific timeframe. This prevents overwhelming your subscribers:
- Click Sending cadence to expand the section.

Select a delivery speed in the dropdown menu: Very fast,
fast, medium, slow, very slow.
💡 Good to knowChanging the delivery speed in the sending cadence section will override the default delivery speed in your pressure settings.

Select a frequency cap in the dropdown menu. Push frequency
caps are defined in your
pressure settings.
💡 Good to knowYou can deactivate Subscriber Protection for this specific notification by choosing Bypass Subscriber Protection in the frequency cap dropdown menu.

(Optional) Edit the default pressure settings.
Your configured delivery speed for this campaign remains unchanged. Any changes you make to the selected frequency cap pressure category are applied. To learn more, check our dedicated article Configure your pressure settings and UTM parameters.
- Click Save.
🚀 Step 4: Schedule your campaign
Once you've designed your campaign, selected the recipients, and configured it, you can schedule it.
- Click Send now or later.
- Choose when you would like to send your push campaign:
- Select the Send it now card to send your campaign immediately to your recipients.
- Select the Send later card to schedule your campaign at a specific date and time.
- Select a date and time.
- (Optional) Activate Send according to the user's timezone.
- (Optional) Activate Send periodically to automatically send your campaign on a recurring schedule. Select a frequency and end.
- Click Send now or Send later to schedule your campaign.
Your subscribers receive your notifications. You can check the main statistics of your campaigns on the listing page or get detailed metrics by clicking the three-dot icon on the campaign of your choice.
