If you are not using any CMS supported by Brevo (WooCommerce, WordPress, Google Tag Manager, or Shopify) or simply want to control how you will install and set up the Conversations chat widget, you can manually install it on your website.
Before you start
- Make sure you have access to your website HTML code and that you are qualified to do website management.

🔐 Step 1: Retrieve the chat widget code
To retrieve the chat widget code:
- Click the account dropdown and select Settings > Inbox > Chat widget.
- Click Install the chat widget.
- Complete the customization of your widget and profile. To learn more, check our dedicated articles Customize your chat widget appearance and Customize your chat operator profile.
- At the Installation step, select the Manually card.
- Click Copy to retrieve the Conversations chat widget code and use it to install the chat widget manually on your website.
⚙️ Step 2: Install the chat widget manually on your website
Access your website's HTML code and paste the chat widget into the code of the pages where you want to enable the chat widget. We recommend pasting the chat widget code right before the </head> tag. You can either choose to install the chat widget on specific website pages or your entire website.
